As a family we got involved with the very first JIA mass outreach during the year 2010. We saw the JiA advertisement in our local newspaper and from there on became part of the organizing committee.
Jesus in Action means to us to be practically part of the ‘church’ of Christ being the ‘hands and feet’ of Christ reaching out to the poor and needy in our community. JiA gives us as a family the platform on which we can live out our faith practically.
We have been called to Semonkong through being involved with the Semonkong Hospital Trust for the past 5 years helping with the preparations for building a district level hospital in the mountaneous region of Semonkong. We have led mission outreach teams to Semonkong serving the community in Semonkong on a yearly basis.
Our mission in Semonkong will include the planting of an Every Nation church in Semonkong, the training of pastors in the greater Lesotho on behalf of Harverster’s Internation ministries and working for the Semonkong Hospital Project as operation manager managing building projects and local skills development.
We will go about implementing our mission through living and working with the local inhabitants of Semonkong. It is very important for us to learn the local language (Sotho) and to learn the culture and respect the culture. We trust that through discipleship God would establish a vibrant worship service.
As a family we would like to express our deepest thanks to those praying, entrusting and partnering with us for this mission, God’s mission. We give God all the glory for His calling on our lives and His faithful provision and protection.
